Question:
Hello there, I was reading one of your previous helpfoot articles about a Timbren Axle-less trailer suspension upgrade for a M105 trailer. This was extremely helpful and I would like to do the same for my trailer. That said, I noticed the frame that I would need to bolt this to is set pretty far from the wheel well picture attached. I assume I would need to bolt up to the main cross member that the existing leaf springs are attached to and not the smaller frame rails closer to the wheel well. I was wondering if you have dealt with this before and had any suggestions before I buy up all the parts.

To install a set of Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension # ASR35HDS02 on your M105 trailer you will need to remove all your current suspension hangers and brackets from the frame. This particular kit places the hub center 8" from the frame and has a lift that will position the axle center line 7-5/16" below the trailer frame rails(see images). You are going to need to weld additional steel to your frame rails to position the suspension where it sits correctly in your wheel wells.
The Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-7-SA and two of the Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assemblies # AKHD-655-6-EZ-K will complete your new setup and give you a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern for your wheels and tires.
