I have a 1998 Newmar Dutch Star with a single unit ducted Dometic 59136.621 AC/Heat Pump unit that needs replaced. What is a good replacement unit and will I need a new controller?

There is indeed a good option to replace your current Dometic 59136.621 air conditioner, which is a 15,000 Btu AC. The best option is one from Advent Air:

- Advent Air RV Air Conditioner for Dometic Setup w/ Start Capacitor - Black # ACDOM150B or White # ACDOM150

This is also a 15,000 Btu air conditioner, and it comes with a start capacitor to help boost the power to ensure your AC gets up and running when you need. They do not come with a heat strip but you can add that easily with the Electric Heat Strip for Advent Air RV Air Conditioners # ACMHD.

A new controller will not be needed and they will work with your distribution box and thermostat so long as the connector on your AC is a 6-pin connector like in the accompanying photo.

If your connector matches, these will plug in and be ready to use; otherwise, you would need a new set up with new wiring and a new thermostat, the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner w/ Air Distribution Box and Wall Thermostat - 15,000 Btu - Black # ADV74FR or White # ADV64FR.
