Can Bulldog Powered Drive Trailer Jack BD500200 be Powered by 7-Way

I have a bulldog 4,000 lb jack I bought several years ago and just installed it. I have read that it can be powered by the tow vehicle through the 7 way and that it cannot. which is it? Id rather not have to mess with another battery since it is a tool trailer and there is no other need for power in it. If I need a battery so be it.

Whether or not the Bulldog 4000 powered a-frame jack part # BD500200 can be powered by a vehicle 7-way comes down to the amperage rating of the 12 volt trailer accessory circuit. This is rated for up to 35 amps so as long as you had a 40 amp fuse for this circuit which is pretty common you could power the jack from your 7-way. Most likely this is the case.

For your Bulldog Electric camper jack #BD500200 will run just fine off of any 12V battery. Often the trailers that use these jacks will have other components they will run as well like lighting, vent fans, etc so it is recommended to use a deep cycle…
