What is Minimum Air Pressure for Curt Flex Air Pin Box
Updated 06/08/2022 | Published 06/07/2022 >
Question:
The Lippert instructions state the minimum air pressure should be 45psi. My 5th wheel weighs GVWR 13K. When I hitched it, my air bag pressure was at 65 and the shock was above the lines. I decreased the air pressure down to ~46psi and its still above the line by about 1/8inch or so. Whats more important? Being at the line on the shock or the air pressure in the air bag? Im worried 45 psi is on the cusp of Lipperts instructions and could this damage the bag by not inflating it a bit more. If I do inflate it, that obviously moves the shock up more above those lines. What will that do to the ride?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Your best option is to drop the psi of the air bag from the Flex Air part # LC328492 down to 45 psi and let it be a little high on the marker. Being 1/8 of an inch off wouldn't be an issue but underinflating the bag could cause it to damage itself.
