Question:
Hello! I am looking to convert my 4 way trailer wiring set-up to a 7 way. I wired my 2013 VW Tiguan with the Tekonsha 118675 harness a few years ago. I just recently bought a small fibreglass camper trailer that I am upgrading the axle to have electric brakes. I will need a conversion kit for the 4 way to the 7 way for my Tiguan and a brake controller only a lightweight trailer, single axle. I will also need a 7 way plug for the trailer wiring it originally had a 7 way plug still has the 7 way wiring but it was converted to a 4 way plug. Any advice or suggested parts would be super appreciated!

We have just what you need. You can use the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7 to adapt your 4-way connector into a 7-way. You can use the No-Drill Mount Bracket # 18136 to attach the 7-way bracket included in the # ETBC7 to your hitch.
This would allow you to use a trailer brake controller like the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR, which is going to have a sleek control knob instead of a big bulky controller. You will need the Universal Wiring Harness for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers # RED69FR for installation and can use the Universal Mounting Panel for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controller Control Knob # 331-TPSI-001 to provide a more factory like appearance.
For the plug on your trailer you can use the 7-Way Round RV Style Trailer Connector # A7WCB or the 7-Way Molded Trailer Wire Connector # H20043 if you need some extra cord.
