For all the benefits the Saris Freedom Bike Rack # SA4412B offers, one it does not have is the ability to fold up when not in use. If that's a feature you desire, there is a similar bike rack that does:

- Saris SuperClamp EX Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # SA4025F

The SuperClamp EX does have the fold-up feature for when not in use, and is a wheel-mounted rack so when you are carrying your bikes there is no frame contact.
