I purchase two hubs for my trailer, item AKHD-545-35-K, and have installed two sets of 1.98” bearing buddies. Both sets have come off while driving. I know both sets were seated all the way. Is this hub not designed for bearing buddies?

The Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly part # AKHD-545-35-K can indeed be used with bearing buddies. These hubs will have a 1.98" hub bore diameter. In order to be sure there are no issues you'll want to be sure your hub bore diameter matches this. If so then you can proceed with using bearing buddies like the Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors part # BB1980A. It might also be worthwhile to ensure the outer diameter of the bearing buddies also measures 1.98"
