Question:
Hi- I am looking at the #MA006200K fan/vent and would like advice on connecting it to a battery rather than my vans electrical system. Considering either a solar battery or a conventional what kind? Motorcycle battery? My concern is running down my vehicles battery when the van is off, but I need to leave the fan on for the dogs. Also, do you recommend 2 fans, for better circulation? Thank you!

The MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent Fan and Thermostat, # MA00-06200K is a 12V DC, variable-speed fan has 2 modes of operation. In manual mode, 10 speed options let you increase or reduce airflow and in auto mode, fan turns on and off based on preset temperature of thermostat. If you need two or if one is enough for your purpose, this fan has a capacity of 900 CFM.
Its power draw is 5 amps in operation and 9 amps for start-up. You can figure how much battery you need from this and how long you need it to operate. My recommendation is to install a RV Lithium Battery, # GP99QR and have it charge from you vehicles engine/electrical system using the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger, # 331-BCDC1240D.
