I can absolutely help you out with this. It sounds like you are looking to flat tow (pull behind your RV) your 2001 Jeep Wrangler with manual transmission. To do this you will need 5 major parts (base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, tow bar wiring and a supplemental braking system), you may need some other parts required for your specific vehicle. I have listed the parts needed below along with a brief explanation of what they do and a recommendation for each part.
Base Plate Kit: This is a custom fit part for your 2001 Jeep Wrangler and will provide the attachment points for your tow bar coming from your RV. I recommend the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521424-5. This fits the standard factory bumper. If you have an alternate style bumper and can provide me with the style that you have, I would be happy to recommend the correct base plate kit for that bumper style.
Tow Bar: This is what comes from the motor home and connects to the base plate kit on your Jeep. I recommend the Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-676. This tow bar is compatible with the above recommended base plate kit and includes the safety cables which means you do not need to get them separately.
Tow Bar Wiring: This allows you to use your Jeep Wrangler's tail lights and wiring system while preventing feedback from your RV. I recommend the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-154.
Supplemental Braking System: This will allow you to safely travel with and stop your Jeep behind your RV. I recommend the Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251. This will provide you with a proportional braking system that never has to be removed, replaced, or reset. This will require the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400 for installation to ensure that your towed vehicle's turn signal lights flash in tandem with your RV's lights.
You may also need a high-low adapter to level your flat tow set-up. I have included a help article that will help you determine this and have linked our high-low adapters so you can get the correct one. You will also want to consult the owners manual of your 2001 Jeep Wrangler to ensure that you are following all recommendations/requirements for flat towing your Jeep.
