Can I Mix Different Color Greases To Fill Trailer Hub with Zerk Fittings
Published 04/07/2022 >
Question:
I want to fill my trailers wheel bearings by injecting grease in thru the E-Z fill hubs. The grease I have is silver/grey color. I have only seen red or green grease. Can I mix them? I was planning to use the Red. Is that okey? Thanks

The color of the grease isn't a good indicator for compatibility, you should be using their base for this. The most common base is Petroleum. The Petroleum based greases can come in many different colors so in some cases it can be okay to mix colors and other it won't. If you don't know what is in your hubs currently then it's best to repack everything with new grease so you don't run into issues. You should be doing this once a year anyhow. I recommend the Prime Guard Wheel Bearing Hi-Temp Red Grease part # L11380.
