Question:
I have a Dodge Ram hauling a camper-I need a 36-inch extension and might could do with a 34-inch. Which I see you have 24–34-inch extension. With this I need a 6 1/2 drop to connect my horse trailer while hauling the camper. The max weight of the horse trailer loaded is 5,000 lbs. What load does my 6 1/2 drop have to be? 4,500 or 9,000 LBS?

So you only need the ball mount to be rated for (at least) the amount you are towing, which in this case is 4,500 lbs. That 4.5k is also the max capacity (when used at 34 inches) of the Titan hitch extension, which is the following part number:
- Titan Hitch Box Extension for 2-1/2" Trailer Hitches # RP45292
So as long as your ball mount is rated for the max 4,500 lbs the # RP45292 is rated for, that's all you'll need. There aren't actually any ball mounts with the drop you need that are rated for just 4,500 lbs, so I recommend using a Curt ball mount that is rated for 7,500 lbs and comes with the hitch ball and pin & clip. There are options for either a 2" or 2-5/16" ball, and they have a 6" drop (which is perfectly fine as you just want to be within 1/2 inch, give or take, of the correct rise or drop):
- Curt Class III Ball Mount with 2-5/16" Ball - 6" Drop # C45065
- Curt Class III Ball Mount with 2" Ball - 6" Drop # C45064
The only other thing you will need is a pin and clip or hitch lock for the Titan extension, either the Gen-Y Hitch Pin and Clip # 325-GH-099 or Draw-Tite Hitch Receiver Lock - Extra Long # BD580412.
