Helpful Expert Reply:
There are a few differences between the # MCL48AB and # OPT78FR. One of them being the delphi plug that comes with the # OPT78FR. this connector provides a weatherproof connection. The # MCL48AB just has the standard 3-wire pigtail.
The other difference is the rating. The # MCL48AB is P2 rated while the # OPT78FR is PC rated. Since a PC light meets all specifications of a P2 light the best choice is going to be the # OPT78FR. The PC rating means it will be visible horizontally left-right at 180 degrees. In other words the light will be visible from different angles where the P2 light only sines directly.
I have attached some review videos for your reference.
