Question:
On a 2009 Infiniti G37 with part # C11499 tow hitch the instructions say to use some stabilizing straps for loads that are not being towed. Does this apply to bike racks and if so are they really required and do you also sell these? Many thanks

The Curt Class I hitches, like the # C11499 which is a fit for your 2009 G37 do include the caveat in the installation instructions that a stabilizing strap is required in order to maintain warranty coverage. The warranty stipulates that a stabilizing strap like part # 18050 should be used for all non-trailer loads like bike racks or cargo trays. One end of the strap would loop around the hitch accessory, the hooked end would attach to the vehicle using the edge of the trunk lid or hatch.
I have linked you to the stabilizing strap, and to a demonstration video showing how it is used.
