Question:
I have a large Gooseneck horse trailer that I need to add an auxiliary battery to. Battery will be used to power the power lights and other 12 devices in the trailer. Would like it to be fully chargeable when connected to the Truck, not just trickle charged thru the Trailer light connector. The ladies in my life use the trailer, and they are not able to connect and charge the auxiliary battery by other means when they are out at events. Was hoping the battery isolator would also accept Solar Charging. And that there is a higher amperage connector that can be used to connect this trailer battery charging circuit to the Truck Battery or alternator. Probably much like a winch wiring connector ran to the rear of the truck. But in this case a Gooseneck. Any help with Battery isolator components, solar, wiring, connectors, would be great. And any advice on converting the manual jack to a electric or hydraulic would be useful. Hope is that you carry all these components so its a one stop shop :

To charge your gooseneck trailer batteries and power your accessories you're going to need the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger - Dual Input - DC to DC - 12V/24V - 25 Amp item # 331-BCDC1225D. You are also going to want the 40-Amp MIDI Fuse Kit for Redarc In-Vehicle 25-Amp BCDC Battery Charger item # 331-FK40 to connect to your battery and the Universal Mounting Bracket for Redarc BCDC Battery Charger item # RED53FR for installation.
This charger can use both your vehicle battery as well as a solar panel to charge your gooseneck trailer batteries. It will use your solar panels first and draw from your truck as needed. It has a battery isolator so it won't take power from your truck battery when it is off, only when it's running. This charger will work great as long as your battery bank is rated between 75 amp hours and 200 amp hours. I have attached a couple of wiring diagrams as well as an installation video.
For your solar charger I recommend the Go Power Solar Flex Charging System with Digital Solar Controller - 110 Watt Solar Panel item # 34272630.
