Question:

You recommended a wiring harness, part # 11841 for a 4 prong flat hook up. Is there a harness available for getting a 6 prong round connection

We do have a hitch fit for the 2012 Volvo XC90, but unfortunately the 2010 Volvo XC60 and and a 2012 XC90 use different hitches.

For the 2012 XC90, I'd recommend the Curt Class IIl hitch, part # 13559. If you'll be towing with the hitch, you'll also need a trailer wiring harness, part # 118411, a # C45010 ball mount and for a trailer ball, use # 40038 for a 1-7/8 or # 63845 for a 2 inch ball.

I'm assuming you're speaking of a 7-way connector like part # PK11893. To add a 7-way to your vehicle, how you'll proceed will depend on whether your trailer has brakes or not. If it doesn't, all you'll need is a # 37185 adapter, which would plug into the 4 pole provided by the # 118411 4 pole I recommended. If your trailer has brakes, you'll need a brake controller to actuate them. The easiest controller to install would be the Curt # C51180 Echo wireless brake controller. You'd also need the # ETBC7L install kit, which includes the # 37185, as well as all the wire, hardware and circuit breakers needed.
