There is a version of the ProRide XT that is compatible with 4-1/2 inch tires, though the base model # TH598004 only fits tires up to 3 inches wide. So what you will need instead is the version with fat tire adapters, which is the following part number:
- Thule ProRide XT Roof Bike Rack for Fat Bikes # TH598004-FB
The ProRide XT # TH598004-FB will fit tires up to 5 inches wide so your 4-1/2 inch tires will fit perfectly in the wheel cradles. It has a 44 lb capacity which is more than the vast majority of roof bike racks, and secures your bike by straps in the wheel wells along with a clamp that grips your downtube. This makes it super easy to use because you don't have to take off your bike's wheels to mount it on the rack.
It also simply clamps onto your crossbars or installs in the top channels if your crossbars have those which makes it a quick install. It is also able to lock onto your crossbars with the addition of lock cores, the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders # TH450200.
