Replacement Brakes on a 3,000 lb. Axle

Question:

I have a camper with Dexter 3000lb axles. Looking at the brake assemblies. Will a 3500lb assembly fit this axle? Notice that the 3000lb assembly is hard to find.

While it may be possible that a 3,500 lb. brake assembly will fit your 3,000 lb. axle, it is recommended that you stay with the 3,000 lb. size intended for your axle and use the part number # K23-472-473-00 for a replacement. If you are dead set on using a 3,500 lb. brake assembly you would need to measure your bearings and brake flange to determine if there is a hub that fits.
