Question:
I have a 2022 Jeep Gladiator and I am interested in a Redarc brake controller, but I live in California. Is there anything special that I need for this to work on my vehicle.

Your 2022 Jeep Gladiator will need to have a 4-way and a 7-way connector already installed on your vehicle for you to be able to install a brake controller. Once these things are installed, you will not need any other items, even if you live in California. The brake controller that I recommend will consist of the following items:
Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller - 2 Braking Modes - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional, part # RED44FR,
Tekonsha Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers - Jeep, part # 3073-P.
This is a proportional brake controller, so the amount of braking force that is applied in your tow vehicle will be applied to your trailer. You will need the 7-way connector to install this brake controller. If your vehicle does not have the 7-way connector, or a 4-way connector, you will need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires, part # ETBC7, and the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part # C56407.
I have included product description links and video installation links below.
