Cost-Effective Suspension Enhancement For 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Towing Light Travel Trailer
Question:
I tow a 5,000 lb travel trailer and sag a bit. Down the line I may upgrade to a 7,500 trailer. Which products do you recommend to level out? I hear the Air Lift product is an option but its too pricey. Looking for the most cost effective option but I dont want to sacrifice ride quality on and off road. Thoughts?

The most cost-effective option that will give your 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 a more level, stable ride when you are towing your travel trailer is from SumoSprings, and there are two options with different capacities:
- 1,000 lb Capacity: SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SS65FR
- 1,500 lb Capacity: SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SS45FR
The 1,000 lb capacity # SS65FR is what you will want to go with for a 5,000 lb travel trailer as that's more than enough capacity to handle the tongue weight put on your '21 Sierra. They are also more cost-effective than the 1,500 lb capacity, but I do recommend the 1,500 lb capacity for a trailer over about 7,000 lbs. So if you are going to upgrade, then go with the higher-rated # SS45FR.
Keep in mind they do not fit if your Sierra has Adaptive Ride Control, but otherwise, the SumoSprings work really well because they compress based on the amount of weight placed at the rear of your truck. This will give your truck the added support you need, helping level your ride while reducing body roll and sway, giving you a smoother, more controlled ride.
