Question:
I am buying a new Airstream Bambi 19CB. Tongue weight is 525 lbs. and dry weight is 3,600 lbs. Gross trailer loaded weight capacity is 5,000 lbs. My TV is a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder with towing capacity of 6,000 lbs. Which weight distribution anti sway hitch would you recommend? I don’t need the best, just something that will do the job and keep me safe. Thank you!

Thanks for that information as it definitely helps get you the right weight distribution hitch for your Airstream Bambi. For a travel trailer that has a 5,000 lb GVWR and 525 lb dry tongue weight, when it is fully loaded a realistic tongue weight is going to be in the 650 lb range. For that range, I highly recommend an option from Fastway:
- Fastway e2 Weight Distribution with 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-0800
The Fastway e2 # FA92-00-0800 is easily the best value among weight distribution hitches due to its combination of high quality and cost-effectiveness relative to other hitches. The quality comes from a number of factors, starting with its superior sway control which is created by friction at two points on the brackets and trunnion bars which have a slight amount of flex; that's important because those two factors are what combine to do the very important job of giving you a safe, controlled ride.
The e2 is also easier to set up than other options, especially compared to systems that use chains, which will save you a lot of of time. And as you can see by the hundreds of reviews on the product page of the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution with 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-0800, our customers who have used it have given it a nearly 5-star rating.
It also comes with everything you need except for the hitch ball, the 2-5/16" Hitch Ball for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems # EQ91-00-6100.
