Can A Jayco Eagle Run On Lithium Batteries And Solar Without Shore Power?
Updated 02/06/2026 | Published 01/23/2026 >
Question:
I have 2025 Jayco Eagle 370FBTS, 12-volt fridge. 1- 100-watt solar panel, and 30amp Go Power MPPT Controller, and 2 230ah 12-volt lithium Batteries. The solar, and batteries and shore power currently report all conditions in BMPRO. 1.Will 34282185 charge both batteries? 2.Can I integrate the 100-amp solar panel and 30-amp MPPT that is installed already? 3.Can I use the BMPRO to monitor and control 34282185 system? 4.Is this enough battery storage to power the unit day to day minus to AC? Load: Lights, 12-volt fridge, TV, coffee pot, computer.

Hello Bob, thanks for reaching out.
Yes, the Go Power Solar Extreme system # 34282185 will charge your two 230Ah 12V lithium batteries as long as they’re wired together as a single 12V bank, which is how most Jaycos are set up. You can also keep your existing 100W panel and 30A MPPT controller. Both charge sources can feed the same battery bank without issue, just make sure the MPPT and inverter/charger are both set to lithium charging profiles so they’re working toward the same voltage targets.
As for BMPRO, it can continue to monitor battery state of charge, voltage, and inputs as long as it’s tied into the same battery bank or shunt, but it won’t directly control the Go Power inverter/charger. Monitoring will still work fine, just don’t expect full system control through the BMPRO interface without additional integration hardware.
On capacity, 460Ah of lithium is solid for day-to-day use without air conditioning. Lights, the 12V fridge, TV, and a computer are no problem if you’re mindful, but high-draw AC loads like a coffee maker will eat into that capacity. The single 100W panel helps, but it’s more of a maintenance charger than a full recharge solution. It works best paired with shore power or occasional generator/inverter charging.

Hey Jesse thanks for your earlier answer it was very helpful. New question, can I use the existing 30amp MPPT for all 3 panel 200amp each or will I need to move to a 60amp MPPT??
