Question:

I am looking for the best tire chain for my 2021 Honda CRV Grand Touring 2WD. The tire size is 235-55-19 and the owners manual says to buy chains with Cable-type: SCC RADIAL CHAIN TC2111MM. But searching using those specs brings up only the ladder type chains and I would rather have something easier to install like the Koenig self-tensioning diamond pattern model. However I can’t tell if the 12mm clearance those require is adequate for my Honda. Please advise, thank you!

It looks like the SCC RADIAL CHAIN TC2111MM doesn't have a Class S rating so any of the Konig chains would have enough clearance on your 2021 Honda CR-V because they all have that low-clearance Class S rating. For your 235/55-19 size tires we have the following self-tensioning from Konig:

XG12 Pro - # TH01594250
Easy Fit 250 - # TH04115250
K Summit XXL - # TH02230K66

The XG12 Pro is more of the standard style that uses the diamond pattern and you would need to feed it behind the tire to install. The Easy Fit basically just drape over the tire and the you tensioning it using the foot pedal (this is by far the easiest to install and my recommendation). The K Summit XXL is a unique chain that gives you the best clearance since it doesn't sit on the back side of the tire sidewall at all.
