Will The Draw-Tite Or Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Sit Behind The OEM Panel On a 2022 Honda Passport?

Question:

I'm looking for a receiver for my 2022 Honda Passport. I like how the OEM one hides behind the factory panel that is on my Passport but is costs so much that I hate spending that much for a receiver. Is there an aftermarket receiver that will also hide behind the bumper panel?

Both the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13421 and Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76290 will have the cross tube that sits behind the removable cover on your 2022 Honda Passport, but the receiver tube itself will still be exposed. This does save you from having to remove the panel and store it when you are needing to use the receiver.

While both the receivers are nearly identical I do prefer that the Draw-Tite # 76290 already has the tab welded on for attaching either a 4-Way Flat Connector # C56291 or a 7-Way Connector # 118291. The one you choose will depend on what you will be using your Passport for. The 4-way is best for small trailers and for Auxiliary Lights # C53201 on hitch mounted accessories. While the 7-way will be needed for larger trailers like campers that will also need a brake controller. The Curt Echo # C51180 is going to be the easiest brake controller to install as it simply plugs in line of the 7-way on the trailer into the 7-way on the Passport.
