Question:

I have a 2019 BMW X7…due to clearance issues in my garage, I need the lowest possible crossbar system…looking for recommendations. The Rhino-Rack Vortex StealthBar Crossbar - Raised Side Rails - Aluminum - 36 Long - Black - RRRSB04B seems to be the lowest profile crossbar. Can you confirm this? Please confirm that this is compatible with the X7. Do I need the RSK01 hardware kit if I don’t care about locking? Finally I assume there maybe issues with the sunroof opening with rack in place…what is your experience with this?

Yes! The Rhino-Rack StealthBars will fit your 2019 BMW X7 with raised rails, but the # RRRSB04B only comes with a single crossbar. For all the parts you need, you will need the Rhino-Rack Vortex StealthBar Roof Rack - Raised, Factory Side Rails - Aluminum - Black # JA8938.

You are absolutely correct in your evaluation that this is the most low-profile roof rack available for your vehicle. As far as the total height, we don't have the specific height because each side rails are different heights for different vehicles. However, we do know that the crossbars only add 1-3/8 inches above your rails. For the total height from your roof, I recommend measuring the height of your rails and then adding 1-3/8 inches to get the total clearance height.

As far as opening your sunroof, as long as no part of your roof interferes with the height restrictions of your StealthBars, you will be able to technically open your sunroof with the bars installed. However, it is important to note that while this is a very aerodynamic system, it will still be quite loud with crossbars installed and the sunroof open.
