Does Wheel Retaining Ring Center Wheels that are Lug Centric or Hub Centric

Ive got a few customers that have removed the retaining ring on their trailers and put the swivel lug nuts on them. Ive noticed a pattern of lug nuts coming loose after a period of time and shearing off the wheel studs. Are these rings critical for a stud pilot wheel and or hub piloted wheel. And what would the difference be between them?

The wheel retaining rings are critical for lug piloted wheel setups. If your customers took this off and the wheel wasn't hub piloted and instead was lug piloted that would cause a lot of issues including studs sheering off.

It depends on the leaf springs you are using. Basically you will need to mock it all up before permanently installing anything on the trailer. Generally speaking the distance between hangers would likely be 24-3/4 inches on center to 29-1/2 inches on…

You need the Wheel Retaining Ring #33-52-1 for your 10K axles and wheels. This ring has the single tab and will allow you to use your current flat faced wheel with Coned Lug Nuts #6-109. The retaining ring will sit outside the the wheels(see image).…

The #42 E-Z Lube Spindle w/ Flange #TRU37FR has a 1"-14 thread size. A replacement Trailer Spindle Nut #165686 is available if the treads are damaged on the castle nut.

Hey Ben, yeah it sounds like your trailer has a 3,500 lb capacity axle based on what you mentioned so the correct disc brake kit part #T2HRCM10DAC that you referenced does fit.

Good question; the bolts in the Hardware Kit for Demco Adjustable Channel Mount Couplers #DM6166 should be torqued to 150 lb-ft during install of a Demco coupler like #DM14040-81 to a bracket like #DM66134.
