Unable to Get B&W Companion Base To Fit a 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 With Factory Prep/Puck System

Question:

I just received the new base for my bandw fifth wheel hitch about a week ago and tried to install it today to make sure everything fit. It seems like my pucks are just a little too close together front to back for the hitch to fit all the way down like it’s suppose to. I would guess that they are about a 1/16”- 1/8” too close together. Is there any way to adjust the pucks on the truck? I see there is no adjustment on the hitch itself.

The pucks on your 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 will not be adjustable as they are a fixed part under the bed.

You should be able to loosen up the cotter pins and castle nuts on the Replacement Base for B&W Companion # BWRVB3710 to get the hitch to drop into the mounting points on your bed. while they normally will drop into most the pucks without adjustment they do offer some adjustment to ensure a proper fit.

Please let me know if that does not work for your base and if you can inspect the hitch for any damage that may have been caused from shipping.
