Published 10/29/2021

Question:

With curt part#17125 (shank) what weight distribution hitch would you recommend? With the wdh on the shank won't it bring the ball height back up to much? Dry is 860 pounds

Thanks for the pictures of both your coupler height and hitch height. Based on that you'd need a shank that would provide 14-15 inches of drop. The shank we offer that would get you closest to that would be the Curt part # C17125 which can do a drop of up to 15-3/4 inches for a trunnion setup or 16-1/4 inches for a round bar setup.

The drop mentioned for the shank factors in the fact that a weight distribution system head holds the ball a bit higher so that would be compensated for. For a WD system the part # RP66022 would be a really great option to use with the mentioned shank.
