The Mopar Recreational Flat Tow Wiring Kit part 68321424AB is required on select Jeep Cherokee's in order to activate the electronic power steering (EPS) system while the vehicle is in tow mode. This part must be obtained from the dealer but since you have a part number now that should make things easier on their end. If they still cannot find this then you can have them reference the Technician Service Bulletin 08-010-17 (unless superseded).

If you can provide me with the year of your Jeep Cherokee I may have more information on whether or not the Mopar Recreational Flat Tow Wiring Kit part 68321424AB is required and the rest of the parts needed to complete your flat-tow setup.

Yes, you will be required to have all the proper lighting and breaking functions to be able to flat tow your 2015 Grand Cherokee. I will provide a few links so that you can take a look at a few different kits that we have available for your car.

If I have a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, do I need the flat tow wiring kit to peer the steering? If not how to get the steering powered? I can’t figure that out.. thank you in advance

The Mopar harness mentioned above isn't needed for your 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk (Jeep resolved this issue starting with the '18 model year vehicles). Instructions for getting the Jeep ready for flat towing, including making sure the steering wheel is unlocked, should be outlined in your owner's manual.

@ChrisR Are you sure on the issue was fixed in 2018? I just bought a 2019 and it has electric power steering (EPS) and am assembling my required parts list. Is there a TSB or official notice from FCA?

@EdwinD Jeep did make changes to the newer model Cherokee's that eliminate the need to use that Mopar harness for flat towing. You will not need to add this to your parts list for the '19 Cherokee.

What is the best method to flat tow my 2020 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk as well as my 2007 Wrangler behind my RV? The Cherokee will be for long trips and the Wrangler for short hauls to the coast and desert.

@RaymondM I believe the 2018 still needs it but the best thing to do is reach out to your local dealer and have them check to be sure.
