Question:

I have a 2015 transit 250. It has four wire hookup now. What do I need so I can use the echo? Also, how do I know if my android will work with it? I also want to use it on a 2007 Silverado 1/2 ton, with 4 wire hookup. Thanks.

To be able to use any trailer brake controller such as the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 you mentioned you will need to have a 7-way connector installed on your vehicle.

For your 2015 Ford Transit T250 you can use the Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7L to upgrade your 4- way to a 7-way and operate the Curt Echo Cnroller.

Now for your 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with a 4-way connector you will also need to add the # ETBC7L. This kit plugs in to your existing 4-way and just requires two more connections. The white wire will need to get grounded to the frame of your truck, and the black wire will get run to the positive terminal of your battery with the included 40 amp circuit breaker.

To mount this connector to your trailer hitch you will need the either the no-drill mounting bracket short # 18140 or long # C57202 depending on your specific hitch.

The Curt Echo # C51180 is compatible with phones that have the Android 4.4 or Apple 8.0 or newer operating systems, so just make sure your phone has this.
