Question:
Hi, my 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited MW3 special version has what looks like a AEV Premium front bumper on it and is not like most of the bumpers Ive seen on Rubicons. Its steel and has some sort of hooks but are on the underneath more. We want to flat tow behind a motorhome. What do i need to make this happen? We know we need a tow bar, lighting kit, braking system, but not sure what itll take to get the tow bar properly hooked to our jeep, since this is a very non standard bumper it seems for jeep. If you could let me know and while at it, go ahead and recommend a good tow bar, lighting kit and braking systems. We were looking at the Roadmaster tow bar thatll tow at least 8k and the braking buddy system. But just cant seem to figure out is my AEV bumper can be used or do I need extra parts? Thanks!

After quite a bit of digging, I do have an answer, and while it's possible for you to get something that will allow you to tow your 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited COD MW3 Edition behind a motorhome, it can't be flat towed due to the AEV AEV10305055AD bumper.
The issue is that the AEV bumper does not have D-rings to attach a tow bar, and I verified with the manufacturers that there are no base plates that fit that bumper. So the only way to haul your Jeep with that bumper behind your motorhome is with one of the following tow dollies:
- Demco Kar Kaddy X Tow Dolly # DM9713093
- Demco Kar Kaddy SS Tow Dolly # DM9713045
Both of these dollies are rated for up to 4,800 lbs, and based on my research your Jeep has a curb weight of 4,315 lbs so the dollies have the necessary capacity. If your Jeep has the 255/75R17 size tires this model came with then width won't be an issue either, as your Jeep will have a max width less than the 76" for the Kar Kaddy SS or 78" for the Kar Kaddy X. I do recommend verifying those specs for your Jeep first, however.
Due to that tire size, you will also need larger wheel straps, the 3-Point Large Wheel Tie-Down Strap for Demco Tow Dollies # DM03528-93.
Then you can choose the best dolly for you, with the Kar Kaddy SS being the higher tier option due to its ability to fold for tight, compact storage.
