Is this heavy duty and ok for a 7k# boat? Also is there advantage/disadvantage between this version and the self centering version?

Most keel rollers for boat trailers like the CE Smith Keel Roller for Boat Trailers part # CE29519 or CE Smith Keel Roller for Boat Trailers - Self Centering part # CE29505 don't have listed weight capacities as they aren't supporting the full weight of the boat. I recommend simply sticking with the original size and location as intended by the boat trailer manufacturer.

In regards to a comparison, the self-centering model helps re-align the boat on the trailer when you aren't completely centered. The standard model will do this to an extent but not near as much as the model designed for this exact purpose.
