If your leaf springs are the lowest rated component on your trailer then if you were to use leaf springs with a higher weight capacity, like part # e54SR, it would increase your total weight capacity. However, it sounds like you have a 2,000 lb axle weight rating. In that case upgrading your leaf springs to a higher weight capacity would not increase the weight capacity of your trailer.
Since you are always limited by the least rated component you will want to find that component and upgrade it. If the trailer itself is only rated for 2,000 lbs then you will not be able to safely carry any more weight than 2,000 lbs per the manufacturer's rating.
If you let me know what the least rated component is on your trailer I can make some recommendations for you.
