Question:

I need replacement brake shoes for dexter backing plate 23-105/106. Which shoes do I need? I cannot find dexter brand shoes rated for 6000 lb axles. I believe the shoes are 12x2 but not 100 sure.

I do have replacement shoes for the Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Kit # 23-105-106, but we generally recommend replacing the whole assemblies entirely. We recommend replacing the whole assemblies because you will then have new springs and new magnets.

If you do want to just replace the brake shoes, the Replacement Brake Shoe and Lining for Hayes 12" x 2" Electric Brakes (One Wheel) # BP04-185 will be the correct replacement. You will need two of these, You always want to replace both sides at the same time to prevent uneven wear.
