The Thule Apex, # TH9026XT, offers more space on the rack arms to fit the bikes. The arms provides more space and makes loading bikes easier. The cradles can also slide back and forth on this rack so you can fine tune the spacing. I have included a link to a video review of this rack as well.

The issue is with a 5 bike rack that you cannot make the arms longer, and therefore the last bike too far from the hitch receiver, because that would produce a tremendous amount of torque on the hitch. It would also extend the loaded rack well beyond the back of the vehicle which could potentially cause issues with driving/parking.

The reality is that loading any combination of 5 bikes is difficult on a 5 bike rack. many times removing the wheels and turning the handle bars is the only option. Again a lot depends on the bikes themselves. Be sure to alternate directions when loading the bikes.
