Can this switch be mounted horizontal vice vertical? Supply cables from shore and generator are too short to allow for vertical mount as in the pictures on webpage.

I attached a section of the instructions which shows you should mount the Progressive Dynamics Transfer Switch - Metal Case - 50 Amp - 120V/240V # PD52 in the vertical position. It should not be installed in the horizontal position. If you need longer wire then I recommend looking on the attached link so you can match up some wire that is the same gauge you are currently using. You will likely use 10 gauge like 10 Gauge Primary Wire - Blue - per Foot # 10-1-1. You may need some connectors like Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connector - 12-10 Gauge - Nylon Insulation - Yellow - Qty 5 # DW05745-5.
