Troubleshooting A Transfer Switch Making A Buzzing Sound

Question:

Have a F-50 transfer switch in my Thor Palazzo motor home. It recently started making a humming noise that is very noticeable when trying to sleep. Should I replace it or do you have any recommendations to quiet the unit?

The terminal screws of your Furrion Automatic Transfer Switch - 50 Amp - 125/250V # F50ATS could just be loose causing the buzzing sound. The sound you hear is an audible signal that the electrical current is jumping a gap across metal connections that aren't in firm contact so I recommend disconnecting the shore power to your RV and tightening each screw. If this does not solve the issue then this is a signal that your transfer switch may need to be replaced.
