Question:
Hello, Are you able to confirm if this hitch hangs below the rear bumper? Will it require a replacement rear bumper trim after installation? The OEM hitch does require a new bumper trim due to interference. Thank you

I can confirm that the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver item # DT42MR does not hang below the rear bumper trim on a 2022 Acura MDX. The installation instructions show a diagram of a 4 inch wide by 3.5 inch wide hole needing to be cut out of your bumper trim to allow access for the hitch receiver. Whether or not you replace the rear trim piece would be your choice. I have attached a link to the installation instructions.
Then to add a 4-way on your MDX you'll need the Vehicle Wiring Harness # C59236.
I also recommend the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches - 2" Ball - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop item # C45534. This will provide you the ball and ball mount you will need to tow your trailer. It also comes with a hitch receiver lock.
