Does Furrion FOS43TASF Vision S Camera System Need To Be Installed So Antenna Extends Above Roof
Published 08/26/2021 >
Question:
Ive seen many photos of cameras mounted on the rear of rvs at various heights relative to the roof. Is there an advantage to mounting the camera as high as possible so the antenna projects above the roof? That would put the camera about 10foot above the street. I propose to install the camera on a 2017, 32foot Keystone Bullet with a fiberglass shell, aluminum framing and steel roof trusses. The camera would be nearly 50foot from the monitor. Thanks

According to the folks at Furrion, ideally you do indeed want to install a wireless camera system like the
# FOS43TASF Vision S so that the antenna extends above the RV roof by a bit otherwise the RV will interfere with the transmission of the wireless signal from the camera to the monitor. The system has an unobstructed range of 492 feet but that is greatly diminished if that range is obstructed.
If your Keystone Bullet is prewired, the blank for the camera will be located pretty high on the rear of the RV unless there are clearance lamps in the way.
You can see a demonstration video for the camera system by using the provided link.
