Published 08/25/2021

Question:

I have a 2001 Triton enclosed snowmobile trailer with 2 3500# axels that have surge brakes on one axel. I would like to install electric brakes, drum brakes. The trailer has 5 bolts at 4.5 inch centers. Axel bearings are 1-1/16 inch outer bearing, 1-3/8 inner bearing. Axel is easy lube . Wheel size is 14. 4 bolt pattern where drum backer plate attaches to axel. 2.5 inch OC? Want self adjusting drums. Need complete drums, hubs, and battery/break away for 1 axel. Thanks

Thanks so much for all that specific info and we do have exactly what you need for the hub and drum and self-adjusting electric brakes for your trailer with a 3,500 lb axle. The exact parts you need are the following:

- Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3,500-lb Axles # 84546UC3-EZ

- Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit # 23-468-469

- Bright Way Push-to-Test Trailer Breakaway Kit # 3802308

You'll need two hubs, but the electric brakes are a complete set with both the left and right brakes. The hubs have the same 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern as your current hubs and are compatible with your 14" wheels. The electric brakes are self-adjusting and include the mounting hardware; and the breakaway kit includes the battery as well as a charger so you don't have to make any additional purchases.
