Good afternoon. Y’all have been great with helping out with purchases for my Subaru Outback and Toyota 4Runner. I’ve now moved to mini van life. Any chance you know if either of the two hitches that are available by etrailer for the sienna 2021 do not interfere with the hands free kick option for opening the trunk? Thanks!

I would be happy to help!

The hands free lift gate feature of your 2021 Toyota Sienna will still work after installing either the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # DT55MR or the Curt Trailer Hitch # C22UR on your van, you will just need to place your foot on either side of the receiver to operate the sensor.

Now when it comes to which trailer hitch to get, I recommend the Curt # C22UR due to it being made in the USA and having a tougher powder coat finish to resist chipping and scratches better. Since the max towing capacity of your Sienna is 3500lbs there in not really a reason to get the higher capacity of the # DT55MR as you would not be able to tow that much anyways.

If you are planning on towing a trailer you will also need a vehicle wiring harness # TK69FR, and a ball mount, hitch ball, and hitch pin and clip which can all be found in the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900.
