Can Rhino Rack Aero Bar Roof Rack For Camper Shells Attach To ARE Aluminum Utility Shell?
Updated 08/23/2021 | Published 08/21/2021 >
Question:
I’m wondering if these trac style mounts will work on an ARE utility shell for a Toyota Tacoma. Do these mount to utility shells the same as a fiberglass shell? Would the mount into the metal crossbars in the shell, or would it be through the thinner material? Any help is appreciated! Thanks,

Yes, the Rhino-Rack Aero Bar Roof Rack for Camper Shells 54" # Y02-480B installs onto your ARE aluminum camper shell just as it would install onto a fiberglass camper shell. You can simply follow the instructions that come with this kit, which say to mount the tracks as close to the edge of the shell as possible while still ensuring there is enough clearance underneath the shell for the hardware to be tightened. You will be drilling into the thinner part of the shell. I attached a demonstration video for you.
