Parts Needed To Install The Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller On a 2008 GMC Sierra
Question:
2008 GMC Sierra with factory 7 way plug. What is needed to install the red24fr in this vehicle? Is there a custom harness that would just plug in under the dash or does it have to be hardwired in place? I want to know everything I need for installation so I can order it all at once.

To complete the installation of the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR on your 2008 GMC Sierra, you will need a Universal Wiring Harness # RED69FR, a M6 Flange Nut # 185916 and M8 Flange Nut # 185917.
There is not a plug and play option for your Sierra as the wiring is bundled near the brake pedal and does not have a OE connector. You will need to splice the wiring from the Redarc harness to your factory wiring. You can choose to solder the wiring and cover with electrical tape or use Heat Shrink Butt Connectors # DW05744-5 and # DW05745-5 to make the appropriate connections.
I have linked an article and installation video below that will help you through the wiring both in the cab for the controller and under the hood to send power to the controller.
