Curt Triflex Brake Controller Randomly Clicking

Question:

I have a Curt Triflex hooked up in my 21 Atlas Cross Sport. It works as intended except that it randomly clicks as if I were pressing the brakes when I am not pressing the brake at all. Ive checked the wiring in the vehicle and its as it should be. Any suggestions?

Is the controller showing any error codes when the clicking is heard?

The easiest place to begin would be to reboot the controller. Unplug the harness from the rear of the controller for a few minutes then plug the controller back in, which could possibly fix the problem.

If that doesn't solve the problem, disconnect the red wire feeding the controller. If the problem still occurs the controller is faulty and should be replaced.

If temporarily disconnecting the red wire corrects the problem, installing a 12V normally open relay inline on that red wire as shown in the provided diagram is recommended.
