Question:
what wire adapter to install Curt Venturer Electric Brake Controller in 2019 Chevy equinox with factory hitch

Expert Reply:
According to Curt there is not a plug-and-play brake controller adapter for the 2019 Chevy Equinox so the Curt Venturer Brake controller would need to be hardwired in. To do this, you would need to convert the factory 4-way on the Equinox using a brake controller install kit part # ETBC7. The ETBC7 comes with all of the necessary components to hard wire the 7-way plug to the rear of the Equinox. Your existing 4-way plug will plug into the provided 7-way plug. The wires from the 7-way plug will need to be extended to the front of the vehicle to power the Curt Venturer brake controller part # C74VV to control the trailer's brakes.
I have attached a wiring diagram of the ETBC7 and an installation video for your reference.
An easier wiring option is to go with the Curt Echo part # C51180 and part # ETBC7L. The Curt Echo only requires 12V power from the 7-Way to control the trailer brakes and the trailer brake adjustments can be monitored via a smart phone app. The ETBC7L still comes with everything you need to hardwire in the 7-way plug but does not come with the all of the wiring because the functions of the 7-way besides the black wire and ground can be tucked away since they are not needed. I have attached a video for your reference.
