Firestone Air Command Does Not Release Air Pressure or Increase Air Pressure

Question:
Copied from other question, same issue here. Also, when I push switch down, gauge goes to zero, but doesnt release air. To release air i can push switch half way up and hold it there. Compressor is working 1. sound, 2. back of truck rises. When I push the pressure gauge up, the it pressurizes the air helper bags but the needle on the gauge goes back down when I let go of the button, the needle doesnt stay at the pressure I increased it at . I checked for leaks but couldnt find any, is this normal? asked by: Tom Expert Reply: It sounds like there is a leak or something mechanically wrong with the gauge. Leaks in an air system can be difficult to find. One way to find then is to rub connection points with soapy water and look for bubbles. A lot of times what happens is if an air line is not cut perfectly straight with a hose cutter like # AL10530, it could leak easily. If you cannot find leaks and the system seems to be holding pressure but the gauge does not move correctly then you can try connecting a different similar gauge to check if it is the gauge or something else in the system causing the discrepancy. It is also possible that there is an electrical problem since the gauge works on a 12 volt system. Check the power and ground wires for proper connections. Make sure the grounds are attached to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces. expert reply by: Michael H

I spoke with my contact about the problem you are having and he immediately knew what the issue probably is. He stated that most likely you have the air tubes at the back of the gauge switched so they are in the wrong places. That would account for the problems you are having. Looking at the diagram Figure C in the instructions linked for reference there should be a location labeled DEL and that line goes to the air springs. The other labeled SUP goes to the compressor.
If this does not solve the issue he said to contact them directly to help troubleshoot the issue further. Call 800-888-0650.
