Question:

Question: I’m towing a 33 foot 8000lb toy hauler with a tongue weight of about 800. I am closing in on the trucks max weight limit of 9000 bl. 2019 GMC AT4, 6.2 Currently the truck is bouncy while towing and i am using a weight distribution system, and have tried to adjust it serval times, but it is still bouncy. I’m wondering if part # RAS4611 standard or part # RAS54FR heavy duty will help improve the handling. Or would I be better off with a Firestone air lift suspension kit, if so which one, and would I need spacers for it..

I recommend the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2609 for your 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4. As your Sierra will have a 2" factory lift with the AT4 package you will need the Lift Spacers # F2366. The air bags will help to reduce the bounce that you are experiencing when you tow with your toy hauler by absorbing the shock and dampening the suspension.

The Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor System # AL74000EZ is the compressor that I recommend. You can adjust your suspension on the fly with the wireless remote or by using your smartphone with the Air Lift app. The smart compressor will also maintain the PSI setting to within 3psi of your programmed setting. This allows for you to not have to monitor the air pressure while you drive.

The RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit # RAS4611 and # RAS54FR will not help with the bouncing that you are experiencing. It is designed to do what your weight distribution system is already doing for you in leveling the ride height.
