Determining The Height Of A B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Hitch In A 2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Question:

What is the best height for my Hitch ? I own a 2021 F250 FX4x4 and a 2021 Forest River Micro Boost XL335LRLE. I have the BandW 18,000lb Slider hitch BKRVK3270 and Rails BWRVK2402. Here are the following measurements. With the Camper level, the measurement from ground to bottom of king pin plate is 51inch . From the ground to the top of truck bed sides= 58inch . Please advise wheat should be the best height settings for the hitch. Thanks ,

You'll actually want to measure from the ground to the floor of the bed and not the top of the sides. The height I'm seeing from an open tailgate (floor of the bed) to the ground for a 2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty is approximately 36" and the sides of the bed are approximately 21". Subtracting the 36" height from the 51" king pin height will give you 15" measurement.

The B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider - Dual Jaw - 18,000lbs Item # BWRVK3270 you have has a height adjustment of 17"-19". Following the formula you'll want to set your hitch as close to 15" as you can which would be the lowest setting at 17". Keep in mind you want to have at least 6" of space between the sides of your bed and the nose of your 5th wheel so you may have to adjust higher to meet this.
