Considerations for Deciding What Position to Install the Pivot Arms on the B&W Companion Hitch
Published 04/08/2022 >
Question:
Just curious as to which position you would suggest I start with on the pivot arms? More forward position or more rearward position on the BandW 3770 for my 2019 GMC with 6.5 foot bed? This thing seems very sturdy!!! This is the first fifth wheel I will have ever pulled. Always have had pull trailers. Thank you for any information you have for me!!!

There isn't really a generic right placement to start with because it will be determined by your particular truck and trailer combination. I can give you some ides, but at the end of the day it will involve a little trial and error on your part to find the correct set-up.
The B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider # BWRVK3770 is going to provide you with 2 fore and aft options and 3 height options. When choosing your height option you need to consider the amount of clearance you have from your bed rails and the level of your 5th wheel trailer. When choosing the fore and aft adjustment you need to consider the cab clearance. I would say with your truck being the 6.5' bed you would want to start in the more rearward position, providing you with more cab clearance. The height is really going to be determined by how your particular trailer sits.
I have also included a video that touches on this around the 10:00 minute mark.
