Will the LED Light Strip Kit Work With the Solera Smart Arm 12V Power RV Awning

I bought this awning and the recommended 15foot LED light kit to go with it. The awning is installed but theres nowhere to attach the LED light strip.... The instructions say theres a cord sewn into the awning fabric that the plastic extrusion from the light strip slides onto. But my awning doesnt have this...

I spoke with Lippert about the Solera Smart Arm 12V Power RV Awning part # LC517517 and they informed me that this is not compatible with the LED Fabric Light Kit with Switch/Plate for Solera RV Awning part # LC674282. There are certain roller tubes that have this channel for the light kit and others that do not which is the case for the one that comes with this awning kit.
That said, you could just attach the Optronics Flexible LED Light Strip part # UCL90CB directly to the trailer and it would pretty much be the same.
