Can the rack also be used as a fishing rod holder

The Kuat Switch 6 Ski and Snowboard Carrier # KU44FR would probably be able to handle your fishing rods. This carrier can handle thicknesses up to about 1-1/4 inches so you can compare that to your rods. I do see some customer reviews stating that it worked well for their fishing rods so you should be fine.
